Privacy Policy

Landscaping Assistant ("the App") is operated by PAL Enterprises. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App on the web or through our iOS application.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the landscaping management service. We do not collect data for advertising, analytics, or user tracking purposes. The specific categories are listed below.

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your username and email address through our authentication provider (Keycloak). Your profile includes a required phone number field, which is stored with your account in the identity provider. We do not store your password — authentication is handled entirely by the identity provider. Your user ID is used solely to identify your account within the App.

Property Information

Crew leads and administrators enter property addresses, client names, and service notes. Addresses may be looked up using the OpenStreetMap Nominatim geocoding service, which receives the search query and returns geographic coordinates.

Location Data

With your permission, the App may access your device's GPS to help detect your current address when adding a new property. Location data is used only for address lookup and is not tracked or stored beyond the resulting property record. We do not monitor your location in the background or share location data with third parties.

Photos

Users may upload photos of properties for documentation purposes. Photos are stored on our self-hosted S3-compatible storage (MinIO) within our private infrastructure. Photos are not shared with third parties or used for any purpose beyond property documentation visible to members of your business.

Usage Data

We collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps, pages visited) for operational and security purposes. We do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or performance monitoring tools that transmit data to third parties.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect the following:

• Payment information (no in-app purchases or payment processing)
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Crash reports or diagnostic data
• Health, fitness, or biometric data
• Browsing or search history outside the App

How We Use Your Information

All data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes ("App Functionality" in Apple's privacy framework):

• To provide and operate the landscaping management service
• To authenticate your identity and enforce role-based access
• To look up and store property addresses
• To enable crew coordination (daily work queues, weekly schedules)
• To maintain an audit trail of changes for accountability

Tracking

We do not track you. Specifically, we do not link your data with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or measurement purposes, and we do not share your data with data brokers. The App does not use Apple's IDFA or any cross-app tracking identifiers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

• Within your business: Property data, work queues, and comments are visible to other members of the same landscaping business as determined by your role.
• Geocoding: When looking up an address, the search query is sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim API. No personal information is included in these requests.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on our privately operated infrastructure. We do not use third-party cloud services for data storage. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Authentication tokens and sessions are managed securely through industry-standard protocols (OpenID Connect).

Data Retention

Your account and associated data are retained as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and data, contact us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
